About Me

Hi, my name is Sónia and I’m a book-a-holic…

I love to talk about books and tell other people what to read. I’m addicted to starting reading challenges although I seem to have a problem finishing them.

I also have a compulsory habit when I really like a book. I re-read it over and over again. And not always from the beginning. Sometimes I just open the book to see a specif quote and then just can’t put it down till I reach the end – I’m weird like that

I’m from Portugal, which means two things: one, english is not my first language, so please bear with me – I improve each day, but some errors are bound to happen, even with proof reading – and second, that reading more than a few genres was a bit of a challenge till a few years back.  However, after I discovered Goodreads, and specially after joining the moderators’ team of a few discussion groups, my access to info about books, new releases, authors and genres has increased in a way I never thought possible. Getting an eReader also helped with that. Seriously, I hope whoever invented the digital book and online shopping has a very happy life, because I’ll be forever grateful.

Anyway, a few years ago it seemed like a good idea to create a blog and continue the sharing of that awesome little wonder called book.

Why did I choose a  name like Book Wielding Harpie? Well, that’s a funny story within a group of very special goodreads friends. Maybe I tell it some day 🙂
